Soap with Hope soaps are made using traditional cold-process methods, which means that they cure for 6 weeks before selling to ensure they are at the correct ph for the skin. There are ingredients listed on each Soap with Hope products. We recommend that you read these to ensure an allergic reaction does not occur, and test on a small patch of skin to make sure this product is right for you. If a reaction occurs, discontinue use. Some essential oils, such a peppermint, can cause a slight tingling sensation. If this is uncomfortable, discontinue use.

No, Soap with Hope products does not use EDTA or any other form of preservative. Due to this, we recommend keeping soap away from pools of water, as they will diminish quickly.

What is the difference between Fragrance and Essential Oils?

Fragrance oil(s), also known as aroma oils, aromatic oils, and flavour oils, are blended synthetic aroma compounds or natural essential oils that are diluted with a carrier like propylene glycol, vegetable oil, or mineral oil.

Essential oils are highly concentrated plant oils. Essential oils have been used for centuries for traditional healing. Soap with Hope uses essential oils where possible, however some, such as Sandalwood, are endangered. For this reason, Sandalwood fragrance oil is used in the African Elephant Bar. Some essential oils, such as peppermint, lemongrass and lavender, are extremely strong in aromas, and are to be used with caution in pregnant women.
